DR Marvasti after joined the academic staff of the University of Tehran as an assistant professor and later was appointed director of the ENT clinic where he succeeded in establishing of the ENT department of the 1000-bed Pahlavi Hospital.( the current Imam Khomeini) and until his retirement, he was in charge of the above department ,which fortunately, is still continues to provide services to specialists and surgeons in this field.
It is a great honor that the graduates of the Pahlavi Hospital (current Imam Khomeini) to have a special scientific reputation, and among the interns who became honorary assistant professors in this department; are Dr. Alinaghi Modarresi, Dr. Saeed Abbaszadeh, Dr. Noureddin Zahir Al-Salam, Dr. Khalkhali, Dr. Abolhassan Komarei (The son of Ayatollah Komarei),Dr. Ghavam Emami, Dr. Mohammadali Abtahi, Dr. Abbas Ardakani (Parand), Dr. Mortazavi, Dr. Sobhan, Dr. Mehdi Veizaei, and Dr. Fazlollah Moazami could be called and mentioned that some of them returned to their hometowns after the end of the specialized course and treated the patients of their cities.
Dr. Marvasti trained in rhinoplasty in the ENT hospitals of Royal National affiliated to the Institute of Otolaryngology, University of London under Professor Maxwell Ellis, Professor Donald Harrison and Dr. Anthony Bull. Afterward he brought this expertise to train his students in Iran.Among his inventions can be mentioned a special device for removing foreign objects from esophagus, (such as coins swallowed) in children.
