After receiving a high school diploma and success in entering the medical school of the University of Tehran, Dr. Marvasti went to that university and after six years, he succeeded in receiving a doctorate from the medical school of the University of Tehran. He chose the field of ENT and continued his studies at Amir Alam Hospital under the supervision of Professor Max Meyer, a former professor of ENT diseases at German universities, and after a short period of preparation, he was sent off to France.
Dr. Marvasti, after entering the science committee of the University of Tehran, he was working and teaching as an assistant professor and director of the clinic.After much effort and much follow-up he eventually succeeded in establishing the ENT department of the thousand-bed Pahlavi Hospital (current Imam Khomeini) in Tehran, and until his retirement, he was in charge of the above department with the position of a university professor. Fortunately, this department is still active and providing service by training surgeons and specialists in this field.
One of the memorable works of Professor Marvasti is the addition of rhinoplasty to ENT surgery in the ward under his supervision in the thousand-bed hospital. due to this, during the time when professor was a member of the Disciplinary Council, in the organization of the Iranian medical system, with the help of other colleagues, he formalized that aspect. And today, the vast majority of rhinoplasty surgeries in the country are legally performed by ENT specialists.
Dr. Marvasti trained in rhinoplasty in the ENT hospitals of Royal National affiliated to the Institute of Otolaryngology, University of London under Professor Maxwell Ellis, Professor Donald Harrison and Dr. Anthony Bull. Afterward he brought this expertise to train his students in Iran.
After Dr. Marvasti's presence at Amir Alam Hospital for a few months, he moved to France and underwent and finished specialized procedures in this field under the supervision of Professor Maurice Abri, Professor of Otolaryngology at Saint Antoine and Larry Boise Hospital and returned to Iran.

Then in order to continue his studies he selected ENT field at Amir Alam Hospital.

Dr. Gholam Hossein Marvasti was born in Yazd in 1912. His father, Mirza Mohammad Alim Marvasti, as a teacher of religious sciences, was teaching a course of jurisprudence in the Theological School of Yazd. In the beginning years of Reza Shah and the formation of Judiciary, he joined the judiciary and continued to serve as a public prosecutor in Isfahan, Kerman and Kashan until his death. After completing the religious sciences at Yazd Theological School on 1931, Dr Marvasti moved from Yazd to Tehran where he obtained a high school diploma. He succeeded the entering exam of medical science in the University of Tehran and continued to study medicine in that university.
After six years, he received a doctorate in medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tehran, and then chose to continue his study in the field of ENT at Amir Alam Hospital under the supervision of Professor Max Meyer, a former German professor of ENT diseases. Later he left for France for further studies.
He joined the academic staff of the University of Tehran as an assistant professor and later was appointed director of the ENT clinic where he succeeded in establishing of the ENT department of the 1000-bed Pahlavi Hospital.( the current Imam Khomeini) and until his retirement, he was in charge of the above department ,which fortunately, is still continues to provide services to specialists and surgeons in this field.
One of the admirable works of Dr Marvasti which was achieved by contribution of other colleagues, is the addition of plastic (cosmetic) nose surgery to ENT surgery in the department under his supervision in Hezar Takhtkhah Hospital when the professor was a member of the Disciplinary Council in the Organization of the Iranian Medical System. Dr. Marvasti's writings include books on ear diseases (760 pages), diseases of the nose and throat, larynx and salivary glands (1152 pages), and hearing tests, all of which have been published several times by the University of Tehran.
In 1946 (more than half a century ago) Dr. Marvasti decided to demolish his house located on Nofel Loshato Street in Tehran in order to build a private hospital with modern standards of that day in seven floors, including inpatient wards and four operating rooms, a maternity ward (including maternity and neonatal wards), and a radiology and laboratory ward, all equipped with a central air conditioning system equipped with a patient elevator and supplies. Finally, in 2014, after receiving the necessary permits, by presence of his wife and children the hospital was donated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences and now after renovation and re-equipment provides necessary service of treating patients with full capacity.
